PHPStorm freezes in PHP files

Hello,
since upgrade to PHPStorm 2021.1 I'm experiencing massive freezes when editing PHP files. Not just the IDE but my whole PC freezes for several seconds. Even if I just replace a word inside a string context, which does not cause any change in control flow

I've tried to solve this with JetBrains people, but they just blamed Latte plugin, even though the issues are in pure PHP files and persist when I disable the plugin. I didn't manage to get anywhere

Is anyone experiencing this … or even solved it?
