Old Bridges/Latte/TexyMacro.php in Texy?

Hello,
i'm about to start use Texy,
so i was about to make latte macro as here
described
but than i noticed there is TexyMacro
in Texy package
Sure Tracy will give me TexyMacro::install() should not be called statically
warning.
Is it “old” way of making the macros or am i missing something ?

you dont have to create own solution
The article on pla.nette.org is too old. I am not sure if is still valid.
